Oh, oh, oh! Let’s go fly a kite, up to the highest height!

The skies above Sydney’s most iconic beach will once again be strewn with a colourful fleet of kites this Sunday. Bondi Beach’s annual Festival of the Winds is back in its 33rd year. As the single day of the year when kites are allowed on the beach, you can expect dragons, sharks and cartoon characters  floating in the breeze. The professionals from the Australian Kite Flyer Society will also be out, showcasing their aerial creations.

Kite-less? Any late stragglers can pick up a ready made glider or fashion their own in the kite-making workshops on the day.

The program includes all day entertainment such as wandering street performers, children’s rides, food stalls and shows.

Festival of the Winds will run this Sunday (September 11) at Bondi Pavilion, Bondi Beach and park. It goes from 11am to 4pm.
