EXHIBITION: BETWEEN SITE & SPACE

EXHIBITION: BETWEEN SITE & SPACE

If a multi-tiered diorama gets your inner kid stamping their sneakers in glee, then be sure to head over to Between Site & Space: A Diorama Of The City at Artspace in Woolloomooloo. Playing host to whiz-bang Nippon wunderkinds Exonemo, Paramodel and Hiraku Suzuki alongside local artists Alex Gawronski, Tim Silver and Gail Priest, it’s a tactile, technological paradise that will be like icecream for your eyes, exploding bubblegum for your brain.
Asking how we map – and make miniature – two cities across an ocean of distance, language and culture, the artists’ responses range from the graffiti-like writhing of blue plastic train tracks from the Osaka-based duo Paramodel to the spare, white suite of screens and ephemera from Alex Gawronski. Having already been to Tokyo Wonder Site it’s now Sydney’s turn to get a kick out of these exciting causal synchronicities and creative sparks.
MARCH 13-APRIL 18. Artspace, 43-51 Cowper Wharf Road, Woolloomooloo. 9356 0555 or www.artspace.org.au
