Forget one ring. In the Dragonball universe, seven balls rules them all. But who will their power fall to; recently resurrected demon Piccolo (James Marsters – yep, Spike from Buffy!) or young, charming Goku and his sidekicks Bulma, Chi-Chi and Master Roshi? With bigger hair than Russell Brand, more ferocious martial arts battles than a Jackie Chan marathon, and a goofy slapstick humour that would be right at home on a Japanese game show, it was fair for the fans of this anime/manga series to expect mighty things of the live action spin off. Diehards will be disappointed – this has been churned through the Hollywood machine, don’t forget – first-timers will be mystified what all the fuss is about, and those in between will find something to enjoy in this light and fluffy adventure.
