Diving into Disco: NYE Pool Party ft. LF System at The Ivy

With a wealth of parties on offer this New Year’s Eve, perhaps the most exciting is LF System playing at the Ivy.

While there are plenty of locations and events for families, those looking to escape the crowds in search of something a little more exhilarating will find plenty to love about a DJ set from this international duo.

Originating from West Lothian, Scotland, the duo’s rise has been rapid, to say the least. Conor Larkman and Sean Finnigan, before hitting number 1 on the UK Singles Chart, were working as a roofer and at a petrol station respectively. 

It wasn’t until July 2022, when the DJ duo’s track Afraid To Feel was released that everything changed for them. The song itself is a remix of the 70s soul track I Can’t Stop (Turning You On), which the duo reinterpreted into a head-banging disco club hit that saw them rocket up the charts. Though it was a distinct disco track, the pair’s ear for drops and tension has also seen some crossover appeal in the globally popular Electronic Dance Music (EDM) world. 

Now, the Scots are taking their sound to Sydney’s very own Ivy. The NYE Pool Party ft. LF System will take place across both floors of the Pool Club at the Sydney nightclub and features a sizable lineup of some of the city’s favourite party starters. These include Caleb Jackson, Jarred Baker, SoCallyy and Movesamaze.
