DAVE STEWART – THE BLACKBIRD DIARIES

DAVE STEWART – THE BLACKBIRD DIARIES

Dave Stewart has released his first solo album in 13 years . The English musician, songwriter and all round stalwart of the music industry most known commercially for being one half of the Eurythmics, has been active in the business for decades. Being in the Eurythmics is really only a  blip compared to what he has achieved (wiki him). Highlights on this new album are Beast Called Fame, Cheaper than Free and Gypsy Girl. As Stewart edges towards his 60s this new album proves he is very much still relevant. Being able to shift tempo and energy levels without losing the passion and groove. There are numerous duets, including Stevie Nicks on the aforementioned Cheaper Than Free (Stevie Nicks will join Dave Stewart on his Australian tour in November). The feel of the album is half rock, half blues and half country (Three halfs don’t make a right??? – Ed). Now before you start thinking the maths doesn’t work out there, don’t worry. Dave Stewart’s The Blackbird Diaries is and album and a half. Have a listen and be warned, you’ll probably buy a ticket for November.
