Culture jam of the week
Some creative wag saw a good fit between an HMAS Collins cap and the bust of Bernie Houghton, late owner of iconic venues of the past, the Bourbon and Beefsteak and the Texas Tavern. Bernie, who was king of the Cross during the heyday of sailors and soldiers here on R&R, would probably have approved. The bust in Fitzroy Gardens was sculpted by local artist Tony Johansen.
