COSMOPOLIS

COSMOPOLIS

Eric Packer (Robert Pattinson) is a ruthless billionaire investment banker, making his way across New York City in his state-of-the-art limousine for a haircut. That is about as simple as Cosmopolis, a complex film directed by David Cronenberg, gets. Heavy dialogue and obscure discussions drive the narrative through the city streets as riots and visits from different characters divert Packer from his task. The entire film is an artistic comment on socio-economic issues based on a novel by Don DeLillo. Overall, this adaptation can be summed up perfectly by a comment from its star actor, Robert Pattinson. While on promotional duties for the film in Cannes, he admitted that he still didn’t know what Cosmopolis was about.
