Charges laid on man who fatally hit woman with bus in Tempe

A man who fatally struck a women with a bus in the inner west has been charged with negligent driving, 7 months after the incident. In March, the 55-year-old man was driving a bus when he hit a woman standing in front of a Tempe bus depot.

NSW Police say the man was issued with a Court Attendance Notice yesterday, and was informed that charges were laid.

Four ambulance crews and helicopter dispatched 

On March 24 at around 8:30pm emergency services were called to Gannon Street in Tempe after the report came that a pedestrian had been hit by a bus. Four ambulance crews and an emergency helicopter were sent, however the Inner West Area Police command declared the 25-year-old woman died at the scene.

The 55-year old man was not injured, and was taken to Prince Alfred Hospital for mandatory testing.

NSW Police say an investigation into the crash took place, and appealed to the public for any additional information on the incident. They urged anyone with dash cam footage of the incident to contact police.

The man is due to appear in Newtown Local Court in January next year.
