CHALET GIRL
After losing her mother in a car accident skateboard champion Kim (Felicity Jones) gives up her sport to work in a fast food outlet and take care of her depressed father (Bill Bailey). But when she lands a job at an exclusive Austrian chalet owned by an affluent British family it appears things are looking up for the feisty tomboy. Now she must learn how the posh people live, confront her mother’s death, deal with her crush on the boss’s son Jonny (Ed Westwick) and become the next snowboard champion. Some good performances (especially by Bill Nighy and Jones herself), the odd laugh and great scenery turn this predictable film into fluffy fun. (ES)
