KURTOSH CAFÉ

Under the mottled shade of a lovely Moreton Bay Fig, no afternoon can be misspent in a more delicious way than sipping a coffee and devouring the delectable baked goods of Randwick’s Kurtosh Cafe. Named after the spirals of baked pastry that are its specialty, Kurtosh is one of those cafes that you take everyone you know to. Inside, a combination of wood floors, raw brick walls and bare light fixtures set off the large glass cabinets that house slabs of cakes sold by weight. Tiramisu and raspberry cheesecake are my personal favourites. Friendly service accompanied by a funky atmosphere and reasonable prices, Kurtosh is an absolute gem. (Oliver Pinkerton)
