BEST MEXICAN: Guzman y Gomez
Some gringos may think it just another fast food chain, but to foodies like me, Guzman y Gomez represented the first glimpse Sydneysiders had of authentic Mexican flavours. As soon as those feisty jalapenos and chipotle pork quesadillas appeared, we gobbled them up with a level of enthusiasm usually reserved for rugby. Guzman y Gomez paved the way for a welcome influx of all things Mexican, so why not don your sombrero and switch your creme caramel for a flan? (Jackie McMillan)
