With its vintage poster covered walls, The Bean is a bit of an institution in Rozelle. This café bar and bistro has been serving the locals since 1978, which is no small feat in an area that regularly sees businesses come and go. In fact – history buffs take note – The Bean purports to be the first café on the Balmain peninsula. For lunch they serve up mouth watering, gourmet concoctions on Turkish bread, as well as a slow braised beef pie and a big burger. But the pull for the late risers is the extensive all-day-breakfast menu. At The Bean they understand that some days lunch is breakfast.
