If you have ever made the sacred pilgrimage to Italy then certainly you have had the pleasure of taking the Holiest of Communions. I’m not talking about a bland cracker and some raspberry cordial; I’m talking about savouring the divine creaminess of buffalo mozzarella. Until 2012 revellers had to endure the arduous journey all the way to the Holy Land but thanks to Michael Fantuz, Sydneysiders needn’t look further than Darlinghurst for their weekly mass. His latest restaurant, Buffalo Dining Club, serves pure buffalo mozzarella imported directly from Italy on a weekly basis. Accompanied by an excellent wine selection, the Buffalo Dining Club has fast become the place of worship for cheese devotees. Only it’s not open on Sundays. (Nick Hadland)
