BABY ET LULU – BABY ET LULU

Lara Goodridge and Abby Dobson sure are two experienced musicians. You may remember Abby from 90s hit-makers Leonardo’s Bride and their signature track Even When I’m Sleeping. With both ladies drawing attention from the likes of the Finn Brothers, The Corrs, Paul Mac and Daniel Johns. And now their amazing talents have combined in an explosion of French chic to form Baby et Lulu with the release of their first album. The two Sydney-based lassies definitely know their stuff. The jazzy, French chanson will have you feeling like you’re sitting in a Parisian café, even if you’ve never even been to France. With an assortment of instruments to accompany the two ladies including flute, keys, sax, clarinet, guitar and bass the vibe becomes very romantic indeed. With a French version of Even When I’m Sleeping tracks deliver high standards. With more upbeat tracks such as Je Suis Amoureux the album has somewhat of a variety. After hearing some of their tunes it is hard not to appreciate the talent that is Baby et Lulu.***1/2
