ASTON SHUFFLE

ASTON SHUFFLE

Mikah Freeman and Vance Musgrove of Canberra house duo Aston Shuffle have been working overtime on the follow up to Seventeen Past Midnight, a record touted by Rolling Stone Australia as one of the top five albums of 2011.

“We’ve spent six months in a bubble writing the new album which is now in completion mode and the new single is a taste of what’s to come,” says Freeman of Can’t Stop Now, a blistering dance floor burner that’s landed just in time for the summer festival season. It may seem like a short time between drinks, with their debut being only 18 months old, but the duo have expanded into new territory.

“We’ve used a different palette of colours; new sounds and vocals, but the signature Aston Shuffle sound remains.”

So after being locked away in the studio what are the duo looking forward to the most?

“Because we’ve been hibernating, we’ve now got the chance to put four or five brand new songs into the show. The response to the new music has been phenomenal, giving us the confidence to think that the music is really good. So we’re really excited and keen to get back on the road.”
