Arrests over Darlinghurst fight

Two men will appear in court later this month after a fight in Darlinghurst in the early hours of Sunday morning. Police were called after reports of a brawl on the corner of Liverpool and Yurong Streets about 12.50am.
On arrival, police arrested several people while the rest of the group dispersed.
Inquiries revealed parties involved in the fight were part of a function at a nearby hotel, where an argument allegedly developed about where to go after the function.
Three men were arrested with one fined for offensive behaviour.
One man was charged with assault police and hindering police while the other was charged with hindering police. They have been granted bail and are expected to appear in Downing Centre Local Court on August 26.
Police from the Surry Hills Alcohol Regulatory Compliance Squad are continuing inquiries into the circumstances leading to the fight.
