Anberlin – Lowborn
Anberlin’s Lowborn varies in intent and distortion.
The album begins with an atmospheric warm-up before getting to the deeper middle, borrowing into the emotionally driven lyrics. Then it begins to strip pieces of itself away as it moves into Hearing voices, placing the repetitive vocals at the fore, showcasing their powerfully felt lyrics. Placing them even higher in importance on Harbinger, the song is almost all voice and atmospheric echoes.
The album gradually builds and then strips back the instrumentation as it goes along, turning itself into a concertina of musical stretching. (SP)
