A nightclub that plays show tunes

With the craze sweeping through London and New York, it was only a matter of time before the musical theatre nightclub scene reached Australia’s shores.

Created by DJ Dan Murphy and Gary Nunn, Club Broadway is Australia’s newest and most unique nightclub experience.

Described as combining a rave and a night at the theatre, guests will be able to sing and dance to songs from musical theatre favourites including Hamilton, Les Mis, Disney and Wicked.

Only original versions of songs will be played – no remixes – allowing attendees to sing along to the musicals they know and love. Each night will also feature special performances and other surprises.

Club Broadway’s opening night took place on Saturday, May 20 at Gingers, upstairs at Sydney’s The Oxford Hotel. Featuring a special performance from Drag queen Vybe, the event was so highly anticipated that tickets sold out within 24 hours.

Tickets for Sydney’s second night are now on sale. The event will take place in the basement of the Imperial in Erskineville and will feature a special performance from singer Jacqui Dark.

DJ Dan Murphy described Club Broadway as a dream come true for anyone who loves a showtune,” adding that “You’ll feel right at home singing and dancing along to the best songs from the musicals. All ages (18+), sexual orientations and singing / dancing abilities welcome!”
