Here’s Your Guide To Sydney’s Must-See Christmas Lights of 2024

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! And these neighbourhoods and landmarks have lit up with all the available LED lights in Sydney to make breathtaking Christmas displays.

Here’s your guide to the best spots across Sydney so you can savour the Christmas spirit.

Sydney CBD Highlights

Martin Place

Arguably the crown jewel of NSW’s many Christmas displays, Martin Place transforms a busy business district into a glowing holiday hub. The towering 25-metre Christmas tree made up of 800 branches, featuring over 110,000 LED lights, is topped off with a massive star impossible to miss.

With a touch of Aussie charm, the tree features 15,000 native flowers, from white wax to bottlebrush. Stroll through, catch the tree lighting up and enjoy the sounds of a recurring choir serenading visitors with festive charm.

St. Mary’s Cathedral

For a more traditional commercial Christmas atmosphere, head to St Mary’s Cathedral for the Lights Of Christmas. This annual event features ‘A Christmas Carol’ projections, painting the Cathedral’s facade, creating a serene but awe-inspiring display that has to be seen.

The festive space also includes food stalls, markets and carols, welcoming all friends and families for the perfect outing.

Christmas Lights in the Eastern Suburb

Elizabeth Street, Paddington

Paddington’s Elizabeth Street offers a neighbourhood wonderland with many houses lighting up (literally) with holiday spirit. Since 2001, the shining star of the street has been 47 Elizabeth Street, known for their extravagant light displays every holiday season.

Waratah Avenue and Avoca Street, Bondi 

North Bondi’s Waratah Avenue and Avoca Street are sure to satisfy with their dazzling lights, Santas and sleighs. The area is a highlight of the Christmas season.

Christmas Lights in Northern Suburbs

Prince Albert Avenue, Mosman

If you’re in North Sydney, Mosman’s Prince Albert Avenue is a must-see. This streets shine with brightly lit mansions and gigantic inflatable Santas, offering some of the most stunning displays in the Northern Suburbs.

Christmas Lights Showstopper in  the Inner West

Lilyfield Rd, Rozelle

Now in its 19th year, Rozelle boasts one of the largest Christmas scenes in the inner West. Featuring four levels of lights and giant LED figures like snowmen, Santas, reindeer and even giant teddy bears, it’s a spectacle you can’t miss.

Christmas Lights in Western Suburbs

Quakers Hill

Quakers Hill is an unexpectedly impressive and warm Christmas display. The iconic 11 Chaplin Crescent placed third in the annual Black City Lights competition so you can expect a breathtaking display. Nearby, check out houses at Errol Place, 2 Keon Place and 7 Mallee Street, known for going all out during the holidays.
