I am more conventional than I may at first seem. I am a faithful lover; but as I entered the hotel this week, I strayed. Temptation stole me away from the bar… The Gallery Tea Lounge was the setting for my first ménage à trois: Guanaja 70% chocolate mille-feuille dessert, a glass of Brown Brothers dessert wine and me. This might excite you too. Drinking, after all, is not only about cocktails. But my devotion to the bar finally won, and with my BFF, I made my way upstairs to the Conservatory Bar (and the stunning view of Hyde Park) for a Green Bicycle – Tanqueray gin, elderflower liquor, muddled cucumbers, apple juice and mint – served with Japanese edamame beans, steamed and served with sea salt. Both of these $20 food and beverage combinations are available during October after 5.30pm, daily.
