One recently called an Arkansas Holiday Inn at 6am to identify himself as an employee of the Grennel Fire Sprinkler Service.

Under his direction, the Inn’s receptionist “reset” the sprinkler system by sounding the fire alarm. She then prevented the sprinklers going off by enlisting Rusty Brown – a passing guest – to smash all the windows on the ground floor with a fire extinguisher. And then she made sure built-up pressure wouldn’t damage the plumbing by breaking the head of a sprinkler…. and flooding the hotel.

A night at the Holiday Inn: $86.

Herding 150 guests in the car park at 6am, a flooded ground floor, and all windows smashed? $50,000+.

Prank phone calls where the staff gets to keep their clothes on? Priceless.

Be warned – that lame pun is the funniest part of this story. A woman in Hayward, California was recently killed while walking her dog.

Vida Silver, 31, and Mama, her beloved 100-pound pit bull, were walking near rail lines. When they tried to cross, things ended badly.

Onlookers report that Silver’s hand was tangled in the leash in such a way she could not let go. She resisted Mama’s attempt to beat an oncoming train, resulting in the high-impact death of both.
