VERGE ARTS FESTIVAL

VERGE ARTS FESTIVAL

The Verge Arts Festival is blossoming all over the sandstone nooks and crannies of Sydney University with a diverse program of art, music, stage, film and discussion. This year, artists-in-residence The Song Company share the bill with indie darlings The Jezabels and The Dolly Rocker Movement, while performance art and flash mobs scatter around the grounds. On Friday 4th, world music rockers Askar Grey Wolf bring their traditional-contemporary music fusion all the way from Xinjiang, North West China, and the night markets justify a splurge on baked goods, hand-made zines and vintage jewellery. Look out for ‘Revolution through Rhythm’, a panel discussion on Wednesday 9th, featuring Blue King Brown’s Natalie Pa’apa’a, The Herd’s Tim Levinson and Rolling Stone’s Dan Lander discussing the role of music in revolution.

Until Sept 11, Sydney University, Camperdown, 9563 6000 or vergeartsfestival.com
