Troubled Botany Road reopened
By Mick Roberts
Controversy continues to surround troubled Botany Road at Waterloo with developers Baseline Constructions seeking damages against the NSW Government.
The Supreme Court has reserved a decision on costs for the Botany Road developer which could run into millions of dollars after the State Government used emergency powers to enter their construction site to shore-up walls.
The road was reopened to traffic on April 16, after businesses reported huge losses in trade following the collapse and closure of Botany Road on March 6.
The historic Iron Duke Hotel remains closed after structural damage from the subsidence.
Investigations into the cause of the road collapse are continuing.
