THE MCCLYMONTS

After recording their third album in Nashville, country music sisters The McClymonts will be on home soil once more as they embark on a nationwide tour supporting the release of Two Worlds Collide, stopping in at the Enmore Theatre. The latest album from the Grafton-born girls Samantha, Mollie and Brooke saw them working with producers like Nathan Chapman (known for his work with Taylor Swift) and the legendary Peter Asher, to create a record Sam believes is their most honest yet.

“We’ve gone through so many more experiences in the last two and half years and I think we made it our focus to make a really open record this time. To wear our heart on our sleeves and let the fans in,” she says, adding that this was a process they didn’t want to rush. “We just wanted to write whenever we could and then make the album when it felt right.” Finding the ‘right’ time is no mean feat for a band that tours as consistently The McClymonts do. Seemingly happiest when putting on a good show, no matter where they are, the girls see no difference between country and city audiences with Sam saying, “We’ve always wanted to make albums that are very universal. We’ve never wanted to box ourselves in to just making music for one crowd. We want anyone to be able to come and enjoy our music.” So what are The McClymonts most excited about doing when they’re back in town for the Enmore gig? Not surprisingly, Samantha is looking forward to simply seeing friends and “just being normal,” she says. “That’s something different for us!”
