
Teens Arrested After High-Speed Police Chase in Stolen Car Ends at Bondi

Four Victorian teenagers have been charged after allegedly leading police on a high-speed chase from Edmondson Park to Bondi Junction while in a stolen car.
The teenagers, including two 14-year-old boys, and two girls aged 12 and 17, allegedly filmed themselves speeding up to 180km/h in a joyride from Geelong to Sydney.
The group allegedly stole a white Mazda CX3 from a gym in Grovedale, Victoria, around 3pm on Wednesday.
About 10.30am on Thursday, officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command attempted to stop the Mazda on the Hume Highway in Edmondson Park.
However, when the driver allegedly failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated.
The pursuit continued along the M5 Motorway towards the M7 at Prospect before it was terminated due to safety concerns.

The teenagers’ stolen vehicle was tracked while they travelled along the M5 Motorway at Milperra, where the pursuit was reengaged.
Then, around 11:20pm, the group allegedly dumped the stolen vehicle inside the bus interchange at Bondi Junction Railway Station before fleeing and running onto the train platform.
According to NSW Police, plain clothes officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command Proactive Crime Team, spotted the individuals involved, before a foot pursuit commenced.
The four individuals were arrested and assisted by officers who had begun their first day on the job as probationary constables, before being taken to Surry Hills Police Station.
When asked whether they’d put other people’s lives in danger, one member of the group replied, “No”, as reported by 9 News.
The 17-year-old driver was charged with two counts police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously, class A motor vehicle exceed speed more than 45km/h, be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, never licensed person drive vehicle on road, goods in custody suspected of being stolen and receive property stolen outside NSW.
The passengers were charged with being carried in conveyance taken without consent of the owner.
All of the teenagers were refused bail and are scheduled to appear before a Children’s court on Friday.
