Taxi driver charged
A taxi driver has been charged with indecent assault after an alleged incident in Stanmore on the afternoon of December 19.
A police statement said a 44-year-old woman took a taxi from an address in Stanmore to a shop in Enmore, before being returned home by the same taxi.
As the taxi dropped the woman off, the 44-year-old taxi driver allegedly leant over and indecently assaulted the woman.
The woman left the taxi and reported the incident to police.
Later that day the driver attended Newtown Police Station where he was charged. He was granted conditional bail to appear at Newtown Local Court on January 18, 2011.
