Sydney To Host the 10th Annual Walk of Freedom To Fight Human Trafficking

On 19 October, Sydney will host the 10th Annual Walk of Freedom organised by global anti-human trafficking non-profit organisation A21.

The world’s largest anti-human trafficking walk calls for change amidst the rising numbers of sex trafficking victims –  more than 49.6 million people are held captive worldwide.

CEO of A21 Nick Caine emphasises the importance of events like the Annual Walk of Freedom.

“Human trafficking remains a critical issue here in Australia, but together we have the power to bring an estimated 41000 people in slavery in Australia to an end,” said A21 Australian Manager Blake Loaney.

As the driving force behind the Walk for Freedom, A21’s commitment to raising awareness of human trafficking has seen great success as organisations latest impact report demonstrates the life changing effects of prevention campaigns, 24/7 trafficking hotlines and creating global awareness.

With this initiative, A21 has formed an incredible community that fights against these injustices and continues to walk in solidarity to shine a light on the worrying realities of human trafficking. 

What to expect from the Annual Walk of Freedom in Sydney

On the 10th Anniversary of this monumental event, the Walk for Freedom will begin at Hickson Road Reserve, The Rocks in Sydney at 10am.

Participants will march in a single-file line, holding posters and giving out flyers to educate society on understanding the signs of human trafficking.

Concluding at Hicksons Road Reserve, attendees will be provided with local hotline numbers, victim identification tips and tools to assist them in reporting illegal trafficking in the largest criminal industry today.
