Sydney socialite Elisha Dalah gave former TV host Andrew O’Keefe heroin, and then performed CPR to save him when he overdosed, court documents have revealed.

Dalah called emergency services and performed CPR on the former Weekend Sunrise host at his Vaucluse home in Sydney’s eastern suburbs on September 14 last year.

The 38-year-old gave O’Keefe Narcan, a drug that reverses an opioid overdose by blocking the effects of opiates on the brain and by restoring breathing.

O’Keefe was rushed to St Vincent’s Hospital where he was treated and later released.

Dalah, known for being the daughter of ex-Elizabeth Bay Marina co-owner Michael Dalah and elder sibling of Fishbowl founder Nathan Dalah, told police that she and O’Keefe had consumed cocaine and heroin earlier in the day.

Dalah was charged with one count of supplying a small quantity of heroin, and pleaded guilty to the charge in February.

Lawyer Asks Court for Section 10

She appeared at Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday where her solicitor, Carla Velasquez asked the presiding Magistrate Rosheehan O’Meagher for a Section 10 application. A Section 10 allows a Court to find an individual guilty of an offence but avoids recording a criminal conviction and imposing additional penalties.

Magistrate O’Meagher told the court this case should serve as a warning to others in the community, in terms of the seriousness of the offence, as reported by news.com.au.

“The maximum penalty for this offence in the district court is 15 years in prison … in the local court it is capped at two years,” she said.

“That shows you how serious an offence this is, and it is treated as so because of the serious consequences of drug supply in terms of serious health implications … which I am sure you are aware of,” Magistrate O’Meagher said.

Dalah Convicted, But No Additional Jail Time Required

Dalah was convicted of the charge, but no additional jail time would be required after she spent four and a half months in custody while awaiting her sentence.

The 38-year-old socialite has been undertaking a rehabilitation program which she will continue to attend ‘for as long as possible’, the court heard.

‘You’ve learnt some things, but looking at your record, we need you to get the message that if you keep offending you will end up in jail, and I don’t think that’s a life you want for yourself,’ Magistrate O’Meagher said.

Dalah previously avoided jail time after being caught stealing at Westfield Bondi Junction, and was sentenced to a 20-month intensive correction order and 200 hours of community service in 2023.
