Rose Jackson: Labor candidate for Lawson Ward

I have lived in the local area my entire life, and have a real passion for the Waverley community. I’ve always been interested in the role local council can play in improving and protecting residents’ way of life.

I watched my parents and their neighbours struggle against the ‘Bondi Monster’ over-development in Jacques Avenue, Bondi Beach, and it made me more passionate about being a representative with a strong community voice.

I have recently completed a Bachelor of Economics (Social Science) at the University of Sydney and during my time at university I was president of the University of Sydney Students’ Representative Council and National President of the National Union of Students. I now manifest my passion for education as vice-president of the Eastern Suburbs Community College.

I have energy and experience, and I want to be part of delivering the best quality council services to Waverley residents.
