REBECCA IRELAND – LOVE STICKY TAPE

REBECCA IRELAND – LOVE STICKY TAPE

What happened 20 odd years ago that every little baby girl that grew up with any musical aptitude wanted to be an acoustic guitar playing singer-song writer with a folk slant. Look that’s fine and so is this album but there just seems to be an endless supply of options in this genre. Oh well I guess its better than being a bits shaking pop lass. This album is really well recorded and structured. A well balanced blend of electric and acoustic instruments complementing each other. The sound and feel of the album sounds is a lot like Jewel – especially the first single of her first album the very successful Who Will Save Your Soul. Her lyrical style is very similar and maybe just as skillful. Rebecca Ireland is able to jump octaves on the same note in a subtle and seemingly effortlessly manner, and even passes muster with her yodelling skills. In a crowded genre it would be tough to get noticed, but hope fully Love and Stick Tape will be.
