Police Officer Charged With Several Offences Of Assault On Multiple Women

A NSW police officer has been charged with serious assault offences on multiple women, including domestic violence, stalking, and detaining with intent to cause harm.

On Wednesday 10 December, police arrested 28-year-old Max Marshall at a correctional centre in Silverwater. Marshall was a probationary constable attached to a Central Metropolitan Region Command. 

He was formally dismissed from the NSW Police Force on Friday 5 December 2025.

Marshall has been in police custody since 3 December when he was first arrested, following reports of an alleged assault on a 21-year-old woman where police were called to the woman’s home in Mortlake at 4am.

Assault has allegedly taken place over the course of several years

On 6 December, investigating officers received additional domestic violence offences allegedly committed by Marshall back in 2023 and 2024. However, these offences had not previously been reported to the police, but caused his arrest on 10 December.

On the day of his arrest on 3 December, Marshall allegedly stalked the 21-year-old woman, assaulted her, and caused her bodily harm. The woman assaulted was later taken to the hospital, as treatment of facial and leg injuries was required.

Marshall has been charged with stalking and intimidating with the intent of fear and physical harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, taking or detaining a person with intent to obtain advantage to cause actual bodily harm, and break and enter minted to commit serious indictable offence.

Additionally the officer has been charged with possession of prohibited drugs, and possession of ammunition without holding licence, permission or authority.

Marshall refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on Thursday 4 December 2025, where he was then formally refused bail.

On Thursday 11 December, Marshall appeared before the Burwood Local Court where he was formally refused bail again after not applying for it.

Marshall will face court on December 17.
