Peace in our lunchtime
A lineup of denominations in Martin Place, during a live video linkup with the Italian city of Assisi on Monday to celebrate the UN’s International Day of Peace. The centre of the CBD played host to a 14-hour peace vigil for the first time, the previous three iterations having been held in picturesque Victoria Park. Co-ordinated once again by the Ministry for Peace, the vigil marks the UN’s global call for ceasefire and non-violence. Sydney’s celebrations were just a small part of a global initiative, which calls on governments worldwide to establish ministries or departments of peace.
