Passerby pulls drunk driver from burning car
Police are praising the actions of a passing motorist who pulled a man from a burning car on the Western Distributor at Pyrmont last Saturday morning.
The vehicle was travelling along the Fig Street on-ramp when the driver lost control at around 11:35am, when it hit a wall, rolled and burst into flames, police say.
It is understood that a man driving past stopped and pulled the driver, aged in his early 20s, from the burning car.
Police report that the uninjured driver returned a positive roadside breath test with a reading of 0.120. He was arrest and taken to City Central Police Station before being charged with mid-range PCA.
He has been granted bail and will appear at Downing Centre Local Court on July 28.
