New team at the helm
Four changes have been made to the six-member executive committee of Bondi Surf Bathers Life Saving Club for the 2008-09 season.
Jim Kornmehl was elected senior vice-president, Lea Hill honorary secretary, Jacob Waks club captain and Colin Panagakis chief instructor at the club’s recent annual general meeting.
They replace Bob Tate, Scott Ryan, Andrew Hoggett and Kornmehl, who did not seek re-election.
President Rod Harvey and honorary treasurer Will Hardman, who were returned unopposed, are the other members of club’s executive for the coming season.
The club’s 101st annual report disclosed a record number of 368 surf life saving awards were gained by members during the 2007-08 season, including 87 new recipients of the bronze medallion, the basic requirement to be an active member.
