A new contender for food and alcohol delivery has hit the streets of Sydney, giving UberEATS, Menulog and Deliveroo a run for their money. Jimmy Brings, a popular delivery service residents in Western Sydney have enjoyed has arrived in the city and surrounding suburbs.

Since the start of the pandemic and the constant lockdowns forcing people to stay home, Australia has seen a rise in online food delivery services. Earlier this year, it was estimated that in 2021 Aussies had spent $2.6 billion on takeaway.

Out of all the states and territories, it was ACT taking the top spot with WA and NSW trailing not far behind. In 2021, Deliveroo was the most popular service for takeout with Menulog and UberEATS close behind.

Within the last five years, online food delivery platforms have grown by 20.6%. It’s the popularity and ease of convenience for snacks, food and alcohol that has allowed Jimmy Brings to enter the Sydney market.

But it won’t just be snack food or alcohol that Jimmy delivers, with painkillers and even contraception readily available for Sydneysiders to purchase, a service that Jimmy Brings’s head Luke Calavassy is most excited about.

“We are so excited to launch our expanded non-liquor range to Jimmy Brings customers across Sydney,” Calavassy told City Hub.

“Whether you have a craving for something sweet or need some snacks to go with your drinks for an unexpected pop in, Jimmy can get you sorted in minutes.”

“Our specially selected snacks and supplies are just another way we are stepping up our ultra-convenience offering. We are so excited to bring the goods – drinks, snacks and essential items – to your door in minutes.”

Jimmy Brings is available to download via the Apple App Store or Google Play and will be delivering from Abbotsford all the way to Vaucluse.
