Naidoc Week Celebration

Naidoc Week Celebration

Local and Sydney Indigenous talent will be showcased on the Bondi Pavilion forecourt on Sunday July 12 from 12pm to 3pm, in celebration of Naidoc Week and to add to the festivities of Bondi Bohemia.

The Gullumbah Aboriginal Dancers from La Perouse (with Glen Timbery) will open the day with a welcome to Country and a smoking ceremony.  This will be followed by the much-loved folk/soul duo The Stiff Gins, who will enthral with their beautiful harmonies and songs declaring Aboriginal women as proud, passionate and talented.

There will be traditional Aboriginal dance and didgeridoo shows with the Gullumbah Aboriginal Dancers, a children’s show, Adamriginal, with entertainer Adam Hill, whose show is filled with songs, sounds and stories of one boy’s journey across this continent.

Expert John Lennis will share his knowledge about bush tucker, growing native plants, herbs and spices and how to bring it all from the garden to the table. Radical Son, Australia’s newest Indigenous music talent, will explore where we’ve come from and what could be through his soulful music. There will be children’s Indigenous painting workshops and craft stalls selling Aboriginal arts and crafts.
