MuMu Grill

The focus of MuMu Grill is grass-fed, sustainable beef and the reason they push this product is because it tastes better, and is better for you (not to mention better for the cow). I recommend the 350g Prime Rib ($36) which is sourced from King Island, crusted in Szechuan Pepper and served with a lovely mash, and crisp green beans. The Roast Pork ($32) is Bangalow Sweet Pork, sourced from my favourite butcher, Pino’s Meats in Kogarah. Owner/chef Craig Macindoe (ex The Tasting Room) cooks it in their woodfire oven, and serves it with caramelised sweet potato and bok choy. If you can fit in an entrée as well, go for the Cured Meat Platter ($18) which contains a lovely Jamón serrano; and save room for one of their Brown Sugar Pavlovas ($12.50) which impressed with a sticky, slightly caramelised flavour. While the wine list didn’t amaze me, they do have a good cocktail list ‘ I tried a great 10 Cane Mojito ($18) which showcased the luxury 10 Cane Rum nicely. I liked the relaxed atmosphere, aided by a natural looking fit-out, including gorgeous dark recycled timber, a sand and epoxy floor, and funky animal heads screen-printed onto a light feature wall!
