A man has died after a motorcycle crashed into a parked car in Sydney’s eastern suburbs last night. At around 8:20pm on Sunday February 12 police were called to Moverly Road in Maroubra, with reports that a motorcycle collided with a parked car.

The motorcycle was being ridden by two people. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene before the arrival of paramedics and has yet to be formally identified. Police say the man was believed to be 30-years-old.

The pillion passenger was treated by paramedics at the scene of the crash, and was airlifted to St Vincents Hospital in critical condition. OnScene Bondi reports the passenger was 33-years-old, and  sustained serious facial injuries.

The road was blocked off last night while the crime scene was secured, and NSW police carried out an investigation into the crash.

Any witnesses to the event, or anyone with information, are being urged to contact police.
