Martin Place Christmas Markets In Full Swing

Martin Place is one of the most festive spots in Australia around Christmas. With carols ringing out in the air, lights hung everywhere and the iconic Christmas Tree, the atmosphere has an infectiously tinsel-tinged feel to it.

Open every Thursday to Sunday in the lead-up to Christmas, these markets are like a traditional, Christmas Fair you might find in Europe or America, but with a distinctly Australian twist. Filled with boutique sellers that offer everything from accessories, toys, art, food items and more, this is the place to come to if you are looking for that gift with a little more thought and meaning behind it. It’s also never a bad thing to support local businesses and artisans!

To help spread the Christmas Spirit, the City of Sydney has organised Choirs in Martin Place. Since December 1, and running right up until December 24, every day from 6pm-8pm will see different groups perform in either Martin Place or George Street. Expect to hear some of your most-loved carols filling the city air, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Live music, an array of international food stalls, activities for the whole family and the overall community spirit at the event make it a highly worthwhile afternoon out for friends, family, or even a date this Christmas Holiday season.
