LO-FI AND LOVING IT: NEW DOGS AND OLD TRICKS

LO-FI AND LOVING IT: NEW DOGS AND OLD TRICKS

BY VIVIAN HUYNH

In today’s technological clutter of phones that sing, fridges that talk and cars that drive themselves, it’s refreshing to see a generation of young creatives who are taking it back to basics.

Presented by Das Superpaper and the Creative Sydney festival, Lo-Fi and Loving It brings together a group of people who are embracing old mediums and redefining the boundaries of lo-fi art, music and performance. The session includes works by 12 of Sydney’s most innovative up-and-comers, such as Jessica Tyrell, a new media artist who combines installation, audio/visual performance and online media; Greedy Hen, a duo who explore unwritten fables with playful black humour; and a live improvisation between bands Moonmilk, Holy Balm and Ghoul.
