LIAM FINN – FOMO

LIAM FINN – FOMO

FOMO is Liam Finn’s second solo album and it won’t find him disowned by the family. This indie-pop album has a Radiohead kind of eerie quirkiness to it mixed with a Ben Lee sensitivity and honesty. One can’t help but lean in closer to the speakers to absorb the lyrics to work out the tale being told. With enough cliched lines to make it ‘pop’, combined with enough odd and cheerful similes to make it ‘art.’ Switching between delicateness and growly guitar riffs all in the one track, it’s like a wave is being ridden song after song. In a good way. Cold Feet, presents a conundrum at its conclusion, and whilst you urge yourself to push ahead and listen to the rest of the album (because it’s great) the pull to listen to it again is strong. Many skip-back buttons are going to get a solid work out. This track along with The Struggle, the albums’ ‘rock out’ moment, will get plenty of non-mainstream airplay. For the record FOMO allegedly stands for fear of missing out. This album doesn’t miss.
