Leichhardt’s best up and coming artists will be on display this month at the Street Art 4 Kids fundraiser on Saturday.

Taking place at the Food, Wine and Design HQ on Parramatta Rd, the project is designed to provide a supportive platform for young artists to express their creativity.

Founder of Wine, Food and Design Rebecca Perry is running the exhibition and said the exhibition was all in the name of a great cause.

“One hundred per cent of the sale of the pieces will go to purchase these items for the Youth Art programme at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead. The entire collection will raise over $15,000.”

Tickets to the event are $80 with all proceeds going to Westmead Children’s Hospital. Over 35 pieces of work will be on show, from small collage works to eight large panels.

“Each panel and canvas now forms part of a wish list with 36 items included,” Ms Perry said. “The high calibre of the exhibition and the detail to which it has been presented has also given the artists a sense of importance and significance as emerging artists.”

Along with an abundance of art, the exhibition also promises to serve up a treat for the taste buds.

“On the night there will be an abundance of delicious tastes prepared by the master chefs including Seoul sliders, yum cha dumplings & Sri Lankan street food,” Ms Perry said.

Burgeoning artist Claudia Perry will have her art featured on the day.

“My experience working on the Street Art 4 Kids campaign has been consistently enjoyable, as it is doing the things that I love with great friends for a positive and important cause,” she said.

Claudia is currently studying a Bachelor of Visual Arts, majoring in Print Media at the Sydney College of the Arts.

“Recently the body of work of Tim Burton and the concepts and trends of ‘90s punk has held a significant influence on my work. I find that in my work, more than anything the use of typography and text convey the meaning and carry the whole effect of the piece,” she said.
