JOHN WATERS’ THIS FILTHY WORLD

JOHN WATERS’ THIS FILTHY WORLD

The King of Camp Cult. The Pope of Trash. The Mustachioed Maestro of Low-brow. Responsible for such masterpieces as Cry-Baby, Serial Mom, Cecil B. Demented, Pink Flamingos, Polyester and Hairspray (the original one – not the John Travolta update; although he does feature in a cameo), John Waters is a legend unto himself. With his pencil-thin Vincent Price moustache and beguilingly crooked smile, Waters takes to the stage with tales of his adventures as a trash aficionado, an artist, a proudly gay man and a successful filmmaker shirking the mainstream. Touted as a, “spoken word vaudeville act”, This Filthy World promises Waters-lovers and general filth followers a rollicking ride through his life, as told through anecdotes and one-liners; spanning the highly comic and the deadly serious. Bounding between musings on art, sexual deviancy, Catholicism, true crime and fashion, Waters is reported to be a fiercely funny man with a lot to say. The one-man show is capped off by a Q&A. I implore you: embrace the eldritch, celebrate depravity; experience This Filthy World.
