Inaugural Bondi to Watsons Bay ocean races

Bondi Surf Bathers Life Saving Club (SBLSC) recently hosted the inaugural Bondi to Watsons Bay ocean races, 12km of ski paddling and surfboat rowing.

The events were the third round of the Sydney Ocean Series, previously held on the north side of Sydney Harbour.

Freshwater paddler Tim Jacobs beat a hot field to make it three wins from three starts in the ski race, while North Cronulla and Palm Beach took line honors respectively in the men’s and women’s surfboat races.

Men’s Open (16 starters): North Cronulla 1, Bulli 2, Wollongong City 3, Corrimal 4, Bondi 5, Wanda 6.

Women’s Open (six starters): Palm Beach 1, Bronte 2, Bondi 3, North Bondi 4, Moruya 5, Bondi C 6.
