EVENT: TROPWEST

Tropfest hits the City West Link to inject some cash and confidence into the dreams of up-and-coming directors beyond the inner fringe. The end objective is an entry into the internationally lauded Tropfest short film festival. To help achieve that, and encourage a vibrant and healthy arts culture in Sydney’s west, NSW Film and Television Office, Information and Cultural Exchange (ICE) and Tropfest have teamed up to create an afternoon of mentoring, advice and awards. Mentor Ranko Markovic of Cedar Boys fame will be in attendance, advice will flow forth from Tropfest reps, producers like George Basha (The Combination), Naomi Wenck (Ten Empty) and Kris Wyld (East West 101), prior winners and even a specialist film solicitor. But the awards part has got to come from your corner, and applications can be downloaded from www.ice.org.au/tropwest2009.

Sat Oct 17, 12-4pm, Rafferty’s Theatre, Riverside Theatres, cnr Church & Market Streets, Parramatta, free but bookings essential, 9897 5744 or antigone.foster@ice.org.au
