Electro Merveilles, a light and sound immersion into France’s monumental electronic music, digital art, and scenography scene, is coming to Sydney.
On Sunday 24 October, the University of Sydney’s alfresco Manning Bar will be transformed into an immersive stage, one where French and Australian DJs will celebrate the iconic sound of French Touch. The event is being marketed as an open-air afternoon-to-night dance party, featuring seven hours of music and a dancefloor under the southern spring sky.
The event marks the official finale concluding Electro Merveilles’s three-day Australian debut, following two consecutive nights in Melbourne.
The Line-Up
Headlining the performance will be Tchami, pioneer of Future House and one of France’s most respected electronic artists. Tchami is an ambassador of the French Touch, founder of the Confession label, and a collaborator of Lady Gaga. Joining him will be Tigerlily, one of Australia’s leading electronic artists, renowned for high-energy performances from Ultra to Lollapalooza.
The performance will also feature Fred B Side, an ambassador of the original 1990s rave movement and the French underground; Adelaide singer-songwriter Alex Hosking; and Mowgli May, one of Australia’s most dynamic emerging artists with credits including Falls Festival, Listen Out, and Field Day.
“We are not bringing a show to Australia – we are bringing France itself,” said Jean-Pierre Ferrand, creator of Merveilles. “You don’t watch France. You walk through it.”
