Driven to extinction

During the local council election campaigns last year a number of candidates campaigned to save the 311 route in its entirety – a campaign many believed had been won.  The recent cuts to this service show that this was not, in fact, the case, and that the 311 route is still in danger of disappearing altogether.  Given the number of Elizabeth Bay residents who no longer have easy access to this bus route, it is hard to believe Transport Minister David Campbell’s claims that the changes will increase passenger numbers on public transport.  Where are the campaigners for the survival of the 311 now?
