Correction

An article published by The City News last month, titled ‘Substation blows development’ (22nd March), reported an explosion at a substation development site in Little Mount Street at Ultimo.
In a letter to The City News, the City of Sydney’s CEO Monica Barone clarified that no substation exists in Little Mount Street at Ultimo. Rather, the substation is located on Little Mount Street in Pyrmont, and was not destroyed in an explosion as the article reported.
Ms Barone said a Development Application (DA) has been submitted for the Pyrmont substation, located 1.4 kilometres away from another electrical substation at Broadway Shopping Centre (pictured) that was in fact damaged in an explosion on February 12th, 2008. Major repairs to the substation have since been completed, according to Centre owners Mirvac, but minor repairs to the facade of the building are continuing.
