Clover’s iron grip on City of Sydney

It’s official. The final line up of City of Sydney councillors has been announced following a week of waiting for the final votes to be counted.

As predicted, Clover Moore’s Independent team claimed six seats in the council election.

Joining Lord Mayor Moore on council are her independent running mates John McInerney, Marcelle Hoff, Phillip Black, Di Tornai and Robert Kok.

The Greens secured a second seat, with their number two candidate Irene Doutney taking her place alongside Greens leader Chris Harris.

Lone Liberal and Labor councillors Shayne Mallard and Meredith Burgmann round out the council line up.

The Lord Mayor’s position will be further strengthened when the new Deputy Lord Mayor is elected at the new council’s first meeting next Monday.
