CHRISTMAS IN JULY
Just like spoiled children come Christmas morn, more and more Sydneysiders are being treated to not one but two Yuletides a year, complete with ice skating rinks, guest appearances from Santa Claus, and a stocking-worth of seasonable treats. After the success of last year’s outing, Gladstone Park in Balmain plays host to the skating rink once more, while various shops and venues round the Balmain and Rozelle area will be theming their wares to suit. On the weekend of the 16th and 17th of July the park will also see a bunch of busy elves descend providing facepainting, cooking lessons, sports activities, balloon bending and craft, alongside market stalls and winter treats better suited for mum and dad. For the duration of the festival, at Tali Gallery a unique beanie-making competition will be underway – perfect to keep your noggin warm on the ice.
